SEALANTS

What is a Sealant?

Sealants are thin, plastic coatings that we apply to the chewing surfaces of a patient’s premolars and molars. We also apply sealants on the deep grooves of teeth, helping to prevent more than 75% of the dental decay that originates there.

After application, the dental sealants protect your teeth from cavities and tooth decay by creating a smooth surface that is easy for you to clean.

Some of the benefits of Sealants:

PROTECT AGAINST PLAQUE AND FOODS

Sealants offer your teeth’ enamel a protective cover that keeps food and plaque from building up in spaces that are hard to reach. In turn, this helps patients prevent the development of severe oral health issues like cavities and tooth decay.

SUPPORTS YOUR ORAL CARE ROUTINE

There are particular crevices at your back teeth that toothbrushes and dental floss cannot reach. Fortunately, dental sealants can keep plaque and food from finding their way into these hard-to-reach areas, making your brushing and flossing routine more effective.

DURABLE AND EASY TO MAINTAIN

Dental sealants can offer your teeth the protection they need for up to 10 years. On top of that, should they happen to chip or wear out, we can resolve the issue quickly. All we will need to do is add more sealant, ensuring a sustained level of protection.
